How Reefs Bar began
How Reefs Bar began
THE HISTORY OF REEFS BAR
Originally there was a pub called The Lifeboat Inn which was situated slightly further down beach road, which had an extension built onto it in 1927.
With the floods of 1953 the pub was destroyed and rebuilt where Reefs Bar is today. It kept the Lifeboat Inn name until the current landlords Pete and George took it over in 2004.
A number of reefs have been built in the sea at Sea Palling as part of the coast defenses to calm the waves. This is where "Reefs Bar" got its name from.
